I've loaded several DVDs with (supposed) DVD-ROM extra features, and not a thing happens. There's nothing different from what you can see on a regular DVD-Video Player.

How do you access these -ROM features? Does some additional piece of software need to be downloaded?

Thank You.

Tried opening the DVDs on your computer? The so-called DVD-ROM features are saved as normal computer files on the DVD and they usually come with their own installation program. If they don't, then you run them by running one of the exe or html-files on the DVD. They can't be opened with a normal DVD-video player.

To install the InterActual Player, which accesses the DVD-ROM content: right-click on your DVD-ROM drive icon (N on my computer), click explore, and find the setup/install icon.

The DVD must be opened with InterActual to actually access the content. Once you have opened up the DVD, there are two usual ways of getting to the material.

1. Click the disc icon at the top of the window, and select the DVD-ROM features option.

2. Go through the DVD menus within the InterActual Player, and click on the link that says DVD-ROM. Note: When selecting the option on a regular player, you'll usually get a message telling you what you need to do or have to get to the DVD-ROM material.

I hope this helps you out, David.

Thanks very much, Brandon. I did as you suggested, and it worked perfectly. :)

While poking around, I also discovered that (after installing the InterActual player) right-clicking on your ROM drive icon with a disc in the drive and then clicking "Open" or "Explore" is also a good & fast way to discover what ROM content is on a disc. Anything that's there will pop up all at once for quick access.

Thanks again for the help. I (obviously) never had access to DVD-ROM features until recently (hence the semi-embarrassing "How the heck does this work?" question I was forced to ask). But I knew the good folk @ HTF would have the answers. And they did.

HTF rocks, kids! Rocks! :)

BTW -- With Halloween approaching, have you guys tried out the two cool-looking Screensavers included on the 25th Anniv. Halloween Edition? (With John Carpenter's music score included. Pretty nice.)

What other discs have nice screensavers as -ROM content? Anyone know?
