Does it happen often that the program doesn't recognize the UPC code? I tried to enter the UPC for 8 mile: 2519219812 and it didn't recognize it....

Aarron I had about 5 in total that did not find the UPC codes and I just looked them up in the By Title section, I found that sometimes you have to put a dash in between the first series of numbers and the second, but this did not happen often.

I did not put any dates on mine, I just pressed enter twice and it took the date as the same one as it is today. So it looks like I bought alot of DVD's on April 30th and May 1st. LOL :)

I guess that I will be looking you up to see how you put in your link onto you SIG :)

Stephane, what is the url for your DVD collection on DVD profiler? If you do not know this, then what is the username you have used? From this, we can tell you what the url is for your collection.

Once you know this, simply copy and paste this url into the line in the user options (signature area) of the user control panel. You will have something like the following...

(url=theactualurlforyourcollection)MY DVD COLLECTION(/url)

except use the "[" and "]" brackets instead of the "(" and ")" ones.

Also, make your collection viewable by all and not private. You go into the DVD profiler website to change this. If you have questions let us know.

In order to have your collection online, you need to set up your username and password in the "My Profiler" area on the DVD Profiler website and then upload your collection from the software to the server using the "My Profiler" option under Tools or use the button in the toolbar.

Also, the DVDProfiler website has a very good support forum for the software. Many longtime users help answer newbie questions. It's a much better way to get support than here on HTF.

Is there any way to put the dvd's into this program without being forced to put in the date purchased, where purchased from, and price paid? I have no idea on 95% of these dvd's and don't feel like making up hundreds of fake purchase prices, date purchased, and from where.....
Simply uncheck the box at the bottom of the ADD DVD window thats's titled "Prompt for personalization" and it won't ask you to input these items.

Well thank you guys for the complement. I can only afford to get the best, at least in my own oppinion. I am a Romantic at heart which is why there are so many romantic comedies in my collection. My wife likes them as well, but I have to admit that I like to watch them as well. Some of them multiple times.

As for the rest, my 7 year old likes alot of the movies and I am the science fiction fan. So now you can understand my collection a little better.

Neil where are you located?
I thought that I saw that your Atlantis also said that it included french version. Plus I liked the cover art.

Stephane...

Aarron how is it going with the inputing of your collection? Hope that you have fun at it... Think of it this way, before computers we would have had to do this by hand. Can you imagine??? No way.... ;)

Call me a thread crapper, but Im really observant of small details, sometimes trivial. But when you refer to yourself as a "Romantic",

it means that you desire for uninhibited emotional expression. You long for strangeness, wonder, and ecstacy. Your psychological ideals seem to be unattainable and you yearn for the unknown.
To BE romantic, however, is to display, or express the characteristic of love.
Anyways, [/threadcrap]

I have a question, for those of you that have DVD Profiler online, how many times to you actually update your profiler?

Do you do it once every 10 disks or so or do you update it every time that you get a new disk?

And if any of you have the DVD Profiler PRO version is it a lot better then the free version?

If so what feature are better?

I add whenever I have new one(s) and time, no rule ;) .

I beleive the Pro has no banner ads and high definition cover arts. Personally, even more important, is if I use a piece of freeware often and find it useful, I always do my best to contribute to the effort, paying for the Pro is one way to acknowledge the usefulness (for me).

For what it's worth, I use the DVD Profiler software on my PC. But when I give people a link to see my online collection, I use my Guzzlefish account. It looks much better.

Guzzlefish doesn't list porn and it's a lot more trouble to add discs that aren't in the database, but it has tracking features that DVD Profiler doesn't and is much more accessible due to its being web based.

I primarily use DVD Profiler. I update whenever I get a new disc or significantly add to my wishlist.

Thank you for the info on Guzzlfish. Just the fact that it has a Cd section seems interesting, but I think that I will stay with DVD Profiler.

I just finished placing my entire collection back into its cabanets. Do not want to do that again. :)

Has anyone found such a program like DVD Profiler to do CD's as was asked in this thread?
Of course it would be great if it also had the jackets of the CD's as well and was just as easy to use as DVD Profiler.
