I have an older DVD player, an EAD TheaterVision. It can't handle CD-ROMs but for whatever reason, it couldn't read the "About Schmidt" DVD. I tried it on my computer DVD player, a Panasonic model, and it worked without problems.

I know it isn't DVD-Rom content, because other discs with those extras work fine. What's so unique about the "About Schmidt" DVD?

I'm just wondering what may cause this. I don't want to be buying DVDs to be watching on the computer in lieu of the home theater...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

In the early months of the format there were occasional compatibility problems between a few discs on particular players - sometimes it was the software on the DVD, sometimes the fault of the firmware on a chip in the player.
