DVD player w/prog scan recommendation (1 Viewer)

Hello, I need help choosing a dvd player with progressive scan that will play dvd-r, cd-r, mp3, and vcd/svcd. My budget is under 300. Any recommendations. thank you.

Hi Kamal,

I just replaced my Samsung 401 workhorse with the new Panasonic Rp-82.

I have to say that I am impressed with this new machine.
My main consideration with this new player is that it must absolutely be able to play SVCD's.

The manual states that this player will not play SVCD's, but it sure the hell does. I have tons of SVCD movies and this player handles them very very well.

Its a great unit. I love the shiny front.
Right now I am listening to a cd that is outputting 88khz to my Pioneer Elite 45TX. The Pioneer displays 88khz when I switch to Remaster on.

It sounds awesome.

I will go on record as saying this player is the best overall value out there. Great features, great video quality and loaded with features. If you need SACD, look elsewhere, but if you want a real nice stand alone cd player / full featured Progressive dvd player, this is it!!
