I was wondering if there arre any DVD players that might be able to play DVD's from Germany and the U.S. If not, is there any way to adjust a DVD player to play other country codes?

There have been a number of threads about region-free players. Do a search for 'Malata' for one. You can go to sites like www.codefree.com among many others. The new Linn Movie Classic is region free, includes a tuner section, sleep time, 5 amps and a preamp out for the left and right channels and is excellent as a CD player but it is not cheap.

Keep in mind that region coding is only one aspect of the problem. The other is that Germany uses a different video standard (PAL) than the U.S. (NTSC) does. You will need a player that can convert PAL to NTSC.
