DVD player sound (1 Viewer)

Probably a real stupid question but...

Does the DVD player make any differance if I'm using the AVR DACS? Would buying Pioneer Elite DV-37 offer any improvement as far as sound is concerned over my current DVD player if I use the COAX digital out to connect to the AVR. My assumption is no.

My assumption given the question you asked is also no, unless the player it is replacing is exceedingly poor.

Figured as much. I'm buying the player for its stellar video performance but was wondering if there was any audio performance improvemnet to be expected.
