I have been having problems with my Philips DVD940 player. It can't read the discs and it just spits the DVDs out. I had it cleaned at it still does the same thing. It started after i took a air blower (for computer keyboards) and sprayed air onto the laser area. (however, this isn't the cleaning i was talking about, I had it professionally cleaned afterward.) Could it be the alignment? Is there anyway to align it myself or should I just junk it?

Ok...let's try this again....does anyone know about DVD repair alignment? Or any cheap places to have this repaired at? (cheap meaning $50 or less)

It sounds to me as if the player is no more. Have you at least called the Philips service number and explained the problem?

I e-mailed them, but it would cost as much as a new one to have it "refurbished". They won't repair it, just replace it....
