Budget: $400 or less.
Priorities:
1. Video Quality in Progressive Scanning (Faroudja still the best?)
2. Soild DVD-RW/DVD+RW compatibility.
3. Reliability, build quality.
To be used:
75% on store-bought DVD movies.
20% Home DVD-RW/DVD+RW movies.
5% CD/MP3 audio.
Connected to:
Onkyo TX-SR501 6.1 Receiver, via coax digital audio.
JVC HD-ILA 52" RPTV (soon to arrive).
Other:
Would be nice to have a changer, but not too important. I was happy with my Sony NC665P changer until I started to burn DVD-R movies and experienced 2-5 stoppages in the movie during playback. Trying the same disc on my POS Sylvania 13-inch TV w/ built-in DVD had NO problems.
I'm not really that interested in SACD, DVD-A capabilities as I have a separate setup for music.
The Sony has a few small technical issues (chroma bug) as well, so I'll be passing it down to my parents, who will not care.
Thanks for the help!
Brian
