Is Progressive Scan really worth it? I have a Sony now from last year and it works fine, but I keep hearing great things about Progressive Scan, is it worth getting a new player? If so, any reccomendations for a poor college boy on a tight budget?

    Thanks,

    Bryan

That depends on what kind of TV you have. If you have a HiDef TV then yes it's worth it for the better picture quality. Even most lower price DVD players can be had with progressive scan today so you don't have to spend a lot to get it.

You need a digital/HDTV set to support progressive scan input, so until you upgrade your TV (the biggest expense) its not worth upgrading the DVD player.
