Hello,

I will be getting the Sony 40" LCD TV, 1080P with 3 HDMI inputs.
I want to get a DVD player that will do the following for up to $200;

Upconvert standard DVD's.
Play DVD-Audio

It would be nice if the player has a region hack and a PAL to NTSC conversion. (I have a punch of region 2 discs).

Should I just get a 2nd dvd player for the region 2 discs and stick
with a good dvd player for the region 1 discs via HDMI?

Thanks for the help!!

Deinterlacing. The 971 does have better deinterlacing, however, due to the Faroudja chip being used it can cause macroblocking on some displays. Proper calibration can help, but sometimes still not completely remove it (as in my case).

Hello,

Well, I went with the 971.
I hope the macroblocking will not be an issue with the Sony LCD.
Where on the web can I find help on calibration of a LCD?
I have the old Avia DVD for my CRT, will it work for the LCD?

Also, where can I find a region hack for the 971?

Thanks for all the help!!!
