    The computer I use:

    - Gateway Essental

    - 256 MB of RAM

    - Pioneer 10x/40x DVD-ROM Drive]

    - Windows XP

The past few days I've been having DVD playback problems using PowerDVD 4.0 for Win XP and on Microsoft Media Player. Everything on the DVD will be "skipping" and there will be audio dropouts during the skipping. How do I fix this?

For some reason I started having problems with DVD playback on my Sony laptop. I don't know what caused it all of a sudden.
This help page is for the InterActual DVD player that comes with newer DVD's. It helped me get going again. Maybe it'll help you.

I tried what that page said and my DVD playback is still jerky. Why this just started to happen is beyond me. [IMG]

Under Device Manager make sure that the Primary and Secondary IDE Channels are set to use DMA.
