Kudos to the guys there for doing the right thing. (There's a lengthy statement on their front page with details.)

I've been reading the site since it was "Laserdisc Monthly" & it was them that originally directed me to the HTF, so its kind of disturbing to see them have to deal with something like this. I'm glad they're being upfront about it. I remember reading the review of "War of the Roses" and thinking... I think I've read this before... in the the Washington Post?? hmm.

Anyway, I know Colin Jacobson occasionally posts here, & I hope he's not too overburdened now. I've always thought his reviews were some of the best at placing a release in context, and nicely balancing disc issues and artistic merit. (and he seems to share some of my taste in music, which is helpful.)

If you're reading this, good luck with the site guys. I'll keep reading.

Thanks very much for the nice comments. It's been a rough few days since we found out about the problem, and I'm glad to see that our efforts to rectify the situation have gotten at least one positive reaction!
Now all we gotta do is find a new reviewer - hopefully one who understands the concept of ORIGINAL content!:)

I heard of this story from my affiliation with the OFCS (the plagairee is also a member), and I was completely impressed by how quickly and appropriately they dealt with the issue.

It's integrity like this that adds respectability to movie/DVD reviewers all over the internet.

DVD Movie Guide effectively earned a daily visitor to their site (i.e. ME) thanks to their behavior in this situation.
