DVD Import Question (1 Viewer)

I searched and I can't believe I can't find a previous topic here or in the basics area, so I must have screwed up - but here goes anyway.

I would like to get a R2 DVD since it's not available here. (And I'm only slightly embarrassed that it's Flash Gordon, 1980!) Now I understand that I'd need a region free player (or to reset my PC's DVD; but I'd rather watch it on my HT). But what about the PAL encoding? Is a region free DVD player able to decode NTSC and PAL, or am I missing something.

While I'm at, two other questions. My take is that the R2 Flash Gordon is a better release than the older US 199x release. Can anyone confirm that? (Else I might as well try and get the US release on eBay.)

And on the topic of eBay, there seems to be a Brazilian region-0 release available. Is that a pirate; and if not, is it any good? Thanks.

its not a bad picture its OAR very cheep just no extras

for the pc get "dvd region free" its faultless as far as i have found

The best spot at HTF for this stuff is the Regional DVD forum.



Most likely a pirate...alot of (but not all) Brazilian or Hong Kong Region 0 titles are boots. A post or search of the Regional DVD forum usually will get you good responses.
