I notice most new DVD players will play CDR and CD-RW disc now. I can hook up my camcorder to my PC and do video editing and such. I normally just dump it back onto tape to share with friends and family. I was wondering If I upgrade to one of this new CDR readable DVD players, can I burn my home movies onto CDR and watch them on DVD player? If so, do I neet any special software? I also saw a DVD player that under specs for formats said "JPEG" but had no more infomation. One of the other toys I want to buy this year is a digital camrea. Can you burn JPEGs to a CDR and watch them on a DVD player? Can anyone recommand a DVD player that does this? It also needs to be progressive scan and play MP3s.

Thank you,

John

If your DVD player can play Video CDs (VCD) you can burn your video in this format (MPEG) using software that can create Video CDs and then watch them on your DVD player.

I think you can also burn JPEGs (still images) and watch them as still frames on your Video CD compatible DVD player as well.
