Hope you received yours, Dave. They shipped mine, but I haven't received it. They consider it lost but can't send me a replacement because now they are on backorder. *sigh*

Dear Andrea,

We are very sorry about the delay in the delivery of your drugstore.com order, and are committed to resolving the issue.

After 10 business days, drugstore.com considers a package sent to a customer that hasn't arrived as lost. At that point, we normally issue a reshipment at no charge to replace the order and send the order on expedited delivery. However, at this time, the item you ordered is on a backorder. We do not have an expected date of arrival at our distribution center for this item. However, backordered items usually return to stock within 7-10 business days. I wanted to inform you of this before we issue a reshipment as you stated that you need these items quickly so you can send them out for Christmas.

Please contact us to advise if you would like us to reship your order or if you would like to be refunded instead.

Again, please accept our apologies. Please feel free to contact us here at drugstore.com if we may provide you with any further assistance.

Best regards,

Klayton

Anyone find these things in stock elsewhere?

Are the film clips in OAR?

It sounds a little like the Blockbuster Movie Game. I pity the pour souls that actually spent money on it at the video store. When I worked there, only 2 were sold. We had trouble getting rid of them even discounted at $4.99.

Hey, y'all remember this thread?
Well, my wife wasn't able to get a copy last Christmas for me. She made up for it with so much other cool stuff, that I forgot all about it.
Until now.
I just saw this over at Video Business Online:

This game was a massive disappointment for me. I have played it several times and it gets old very fast. The worst part about the game is that most of the clips are from very crappy movies (Zoolander, Mystery Men) and I don't remember seeing a single clip from a film made before the 1980s. The clips also repeat after the second time you play it. Some of the categories are pretty dull too.

So basically I'm suggesting that if you are going out of your way to find this game, it may not be worth your efforts. It's a very interesting idea for a game, but could have been much better.

For some support for the game.....my girlfriend and I really enjoy playing it and kind of like that there are only more recent "popular" movies. It makes it more like a pop culture game, which to me is more fun than answering questions about film classics and the such. If you don't want clips repeated there is a code you can punch in (I can't remember it at the moment) that lets you play the clips and questions in an order from a menu screen. The code can be found at Scene It?'s official site.

Looking forward to those sequels!

What they should do is have various categories, such as "classics" "comedies" "cult" and "horror" etc.

Maybe even "chick flicks"!

It wouldn't be a fair game for me to own. I would beat everyone that would play against me. I don't want to always win.

Out of all my friends I'm the biggest movie buff and own the most DVDs.... blah blah.

To bad they don't have an online version. It would be a challenge to compete against other film buffs.

Something to think about I guess.

If you can find the Blockbuster board game (put out by the store, I believe), it's a similar concept, but you use your *own* DVDs. The way it works is that the person whose turn it is shows a 1-minute clip (of their choice), then has to ask a question about it. The trick is that if *none* of the other players can answer it, then the asker doesn't get any points. So you want to make 'em tough, but not *too* tough. :)

Wal-Mart has the now-Mattel-backed "Scene It?" game for $34.88! The box is different, and of course it has the Mattel logo on it. But it's the same game...just cheaper and highly available! Look for it in the board game section:

My wife has already bought it for me and hidden it until Christmas. A year late, but oh well! :)

Got another one!

All-new multi-media version of America's favorite trivia game.Includes 2,400 card questions and a DVD with 600 DVD questions. Features 6 categories: Television, Movies, Music,Sports/Games, Buzz, and Fads.
Spotted it at Toys R Us while checking out their "Buy 1 Board Game (Hasbro, Parker Bros., or Milton Bradley) and get 1 (same or cheaper price) FREE. The sale lasts all week long, I was told...but you have to have the coupon from their current flyer (don't worry...I grabbed mine from a stand at the door when I walked in).
This one's going under the tree for me, too! :)
