DVD Audio Quality

    Does the audio quality of DVD players differ. Can someone recommend a few players that offer good sound and picture.

    Steve, you're new here and so I guess that cushions you from this most controversial of topics. I don't believe that DVD players add to or take from the "sound" to any measurable (or discernable) degree. If they meet their specifications, the "sound" should be like all other players.

    The "high-end" audio community, however, will disagree (just read an Absolute Sound or Stereophile "test report" to see by how much).

    And some members here, also, would disagree.

    If you'll be running digital coax or fiber optic for the audio, you'll find little to no differences. With your receiver doing the processing, the player will only affect jitter measurements in the sound, which will be negligible at best...
