Hello I recently upgraded my sound card to a Audigy 2 ZS, and just discovered DVD audio, and I am not finding much software for this format which really blew me away, I also purchased a 7.1 speaker system.

I've been looking for a place that has a hopefully large selection, as Amazon has few and SACD Hybrid which I dont think will work on my 5 year old DVD player, or will it??

I also went to the local record stores and found not much [IMG]
any links would be helpfull thnx !![IMG]

I will upgrade to a DVD audio for my HT cause i read that to experience the full effect, I need a DVD audio player but that is down the road i will just be using my computer for now!!

EDIT: found Tower Records they had a large list

Hybrid SACDs will work on any player that plays back standard CDs. However, without SACD playback capability, you will not get hi-res audio from a hybrid SACD.

There are "universal" players that can play CD, SACD, DVD-Video and DVD-Audio. If you want to ensure the widest compatability, a universal player is the way to go. Universal players cover the price spectrm, from well under $200 for a Pioneer 578a to over $3K for a Denon DV-5910, and those are just the mass market manufacturers. There are also a few multi-disc universal changers available, such as the Yamaha DVD-C750 and Onkyo DV-C802.

Do they make a universal DVD drive to play these formats on the computer? or would I need to buy a Universal player??

I am using my current DVD rom which is at least 5 years old would I notice a difference in quality using a universal player over my dvd rom drive??

There is no way that I know to play SACD encoded tracks on a PC.

As far as playback quality for DVD-Audio PC DVD rom vs a stand alone player I dont know. I would suspect a high quality stand alone player would probably sound better.
