That's a buttload of DVD-A discs in a short period of time. Looks like a good mix titles where there's something to please everyone.
It's amazing how many of them are on SACD already. It's a little depressing to see how many of the titles are Silverline Records. They're my label of last resort.
Thanks for info John!
Yawn, I'll believe it when I see it. I picked up the CD version of R.E.M. greatest hits. I was shocked to see the DVD Audio version was not available. I'd bet only 50% of these actually get released before year's end.
I'm very disappointed in the list as well. Looks like perhaps a re-buy of REM I have on CD and might reconsider a re-buy of the Foo Fighters. Perhaps by CES, DVD-A and SACD will have new announcements.
Lee - 2 words.............. The Chairman If you could dig up just one Sinatra title coming out in SACD in the near future you would be gushing for weeks. Puh-lease! Oh yeah - and hows about Carlos? You know Santana. Gush again. Oh darn, did I forget to mention Mr. Young? Gush x3. The Lips? Gush gush gush gush. Gimme a break - nothing "real exciting".
The Neil Young should be awesome - On the Beach is a definite classic. Some of the classical titles look promising as well - if the Beethoven cycle delivers, we should all be thrilled. Also, with so many AIX titles coming out (yet to hear one that isn't incredible), how can one complain? D
Well Lee, this isn't an SACD release either - so you must be right? BULL*HIT Why don't you go to the lemmings site - hoffman? I am sure you will get an applause Oh don't forget this all those already SACD titles in the list will sound a lot better in DVD Audio format! Can't wait! Bring 'em on..
Anything from Tacet and AIX has got to be great. I think the Rachmaninoff/Beethoven title has much promise.
Given that REM's back Warners Bros catalog is coming soon, the greatest hits package in the long run will only be good for 3 songs on DVD-A. Bad Day, Animal, All The right Friends. Not that i'm not still gonna buy it My wife is still waiting for Shania Twain...Most exciting thing for me on here is the Flaming Lips.
Lots of good titles here that should appeal to fans of many tastes in Music. Looks like DVD-A is picking up some momentum, especially with Superstar artists. Looking forward to picking up REM, Steely Dan, Everclear, Flaming Lips, a few of the Neil Young discs, Santana, Outkast and a few others. J
It's fun to just sit back and watch these threads evolve Regards,
