DVD-A question (1 Viewer)

I'm new to the board and very hopeful that I can find an answer here...

I have a Samsung HD841 combo SACD/DVD-A player hooked up to a Sony STR-DE997 reciever via analog multi-channel. When i play an SACD, the sound is great, but whenever I play a DVD-A, the bass from the subwoofer is extremely low, almost not even there. I tested it with the same album in both formats (Nine Inch Nails' "The Downward Spiral") and the result was clear.

I've read a bit about the subject but haven't seen anything that fixes my problem. Any help anybody here could provide would be great.

Seems like a setting is wrong for the DVD-A. Is there a set up menu which is exclusive for DVD-A on the player?

Thanks for the suggestion. at $249 itll have to wait a little while, but for now i can just turn the sub all the way up. that helps for the most part.
