Hi guys,

I'm having problem seeing and recording the date and time from my camcorder (Canon GR-DVL510) onto my Panasonic DMR-HS2 DVD recorder thru the DV input?

The camcorder's is set to display time and date which shows up fine on the dvd recorder thru the composite and s-video, but not if I use the DV input. Does DV input not feed that through because it's formatted differently on miniDV? Can it be explained? Thanks in advance.

I'm recording baby video so it's important to see the time and date.

edit: ah shoot, I just realize that this better belongs in the audio/video thread. Sorry.

OK, so I was told that those digital connection does not pass the camcorder date and time. Can anyone confirm this? It puzzle me why it doesn't.

Is there no one out there that records their home movies from camcorder to a dvd recorder via DV connection? Anyone?
