i just bought the elite dv45a and it will not read any discs, it loads them and the says no disc, any thoughts or is it defective?

Sounds like it might have some problems. I have the Elite DV-45A and it has only done that once but worked fine after opening and closing the tray. Overall, I have been very pleased with mine.

Obviously its not supposed to do that.

There is a reset procedure in the manual. I would give that a shot, before taking it back.

I have had a 45a since October of 2002, and I have never seen that happen.
