In US Patent# 5,778,087 John Dunlavy discusses a method for determining if your speakers are optimally placed for best stereo imaging. Basically one can use a monaural source fed through the speakers (interstation noise or something that you've burned on a CD) and the ubiquitous Radio Shack SPL. For reasons unknown, I was unable to display the images but thought that some might find it useful and perhaps be able to improve a bit on their present setup.
