Dumb question but do you need any particular speakers for a 5.1 setup? I currently have a pair of Pioneer S-HF10's and a Kenwood SW-301 sub. Will these work?

Best - 5 of the same plus a good sub.

Good - 3 of the same for the L/R/C, 2 surrounds, sub

Shoddy - A mix of old and new speakers from different places, no sub, 2 head VCR and a 19" Magnavox.

But really, a speaker is a speaker, and you need 5 plus a sub. If you like the way it sounds, all the better. But 5 of the same will ensure that the "soundfield" will be like a bubble of sonic virtual reality.

Good Luck!

Get the best speakers you are comfortable paying for. If what you have sounds good to you right now, then there's no reason why they will not work.

Repeate this: Save, upgrade, save, upgrade, save, upgrade.

Or if you like: save, save, save, upgrade EVERYTHING. J/K.
