im thinking of geting the Philips 30PW850H
its a 30 in widescreen tv but i was wondering will the actual higth of the vewing area be less than a standerd 30 in tv ??

and if so how many inches

A 30" 4x3 TV will have a screen about 24" wide and 18" tall.

A 30" 16x9 TV will have a screen about 26" wide and 14.7" tall.

You need a 36" 16x9 screen to have the equivalent screen height of a 30" 4x3 set.

BTW, good choice on the TV. I have one also.
