It's about damn time. I figured we'd never see one after New Line passed up the opportunity to give the Farelly's only movie without an SE the treatment by tying it in with the terrible prequel.

Considering the crappy "unrated" re-releases we've seen recently ("Dodgeball"), I'm not that impressed, but since I don't already have a copy I'll probably pick it up. Still, I'd hold off if I was double-dipping.

I'll finally pick this one up since I've never bought the bare bones release.

Cool. $19.97 seems a bit steep though. The extras better be worth a double buy.
I would say I was hoping for a commentary, but the Farrelly brothers commentaries aren't that great (ex: Kingpin)
(now I think about it, I don't know if I've listened to the Me,Myself, & Irene commentary....might have to give that a try)

    Thanks for the heads up.

This is probably my favorite movie of all time! Bout friggin time they are giving it the treatment it deserves. It is going to be weird hearing the new lines since this film is burned into my brain as is. [IMG]

    Brian,

A SRP of $19.97 means it will probably only be $13-14 the week it streets which seems like a pretty reasonable price. I wonder if it will have improved picture and sound quality over the bare bones release.

I'd be happy if they just cleaned up the picture and improved the sound.

If they give this the same treatment as The Mask, then I'll be very happy. Hopefully Carrey wil be involved in the retrospective (shame if he isn't).

I'd be up for this. [IMG]

Although, they could leave out a commentary for all I care, I can only listen to the Farelly bros point out EVERYBODY that they know in the world for only so long.

A review is up (at DVDTalk). The extra 6 minutes is, essentially, just extensions of 3 scenes accroding to the review (which says which scenes are extended, so read at your own risk). He calls the transfer "much improved" and the audio "better" than the previous release. The documentary runs ~18 minutes (and, not surprisingly, doesn't have participation from Jim Carrey), and the deleted/alternate scenes (12 in total) run ~41 minutes.

The usually consistent New Line hasn't yet provided me with a review copy yet, but I'd love to get my hands on it.

    Sadly this release is incomplete.

The Norwegian theatrical and VHS releases included an extended scene early in the film. At 15:55 (the new R1 DVD)

after Lloyd (Carrey) leaves his wallet with the old lady, you saw him coming back looking for her calling "Little Old Lady?" before he returned to Harry (Daniels) saying he has been robbed.

This scene was not included on the (now deleted) Norwegian DVD, but it was included on a Norwegian TV broadcast a few months ago.

I really hoped New Line finally would release a version with this, but I guess I will have to wait for a HD release or a new European DVD release.
