    There are some very dubious DVDs with incorrect titles on koreandvds.com

    For example, "100 Girls" is renamed "American Pie 3".
    "Stuart Gordon" is renamed "Deep Blue Sea 3".
    "Shark Attack 3: Megalodon" is renamed "The Abyss 2".

    Is this good practice?

    I'm more confused that there's a movie called STUART GORDON...

    No, Jason, it’s not good practice but cheating the customer. Caveat emptor every time when doing business with e-tailers who offer items like you describe.

    Funny this place came up recently in a thread discussing the $5 Criterion edition of NOTORIOUS they sell. Granted it's a sale price for a disc that used to be about $20 US, but even that's a bargain compared to the US edition.

    as a rule, KDVD generally sells legit DVDs-but the laws are different over there-they may sell some grey market/semi-legit items also;

    It is also a common practice in many Asian markets to rename a film to a title more apt to be understood, or more relevant to the consumers in that area. Some examples I can recall:

    ARMY OF DARKNESS became CAPTAIN SUPERMARKET
    LIFEFORCE became THE SPACE VAMPIRES...
    etc.
    you might call these "subtitles" of the Title

    Yes indeed, renaming often (as in Jason’s examples) to give the impression that the film, more often than not a low-budget rip-off, is a sequel to a major Hollywood production--there was a Gladiator 2, with Russell Crowe on cover, on sale at one time.

    Of course, KoreanDVDs don’t do the renaming but they deal in those DVD’s, and there’s little doubt in my mind—judging from what they have sent me--that they also deal in pirated discs.
