Hi all, I manage to have two tempests sitting around. (IB setup didn't work as I planned) and an amp that'll be able to give em a nice healthy 1400 watts. (QSC RMX 1450) Well, haven't bought the amp yet, but will hopefully soon!
While I'm waiting for the amp, I want to build an enclosure for them, but I'm really not sure what to build! I'm pretty definite I'll be doing a sonotube (I can't decide if I want 1 tube, or 2) Size doesn't REALLY matter, a 30" wide 5' sub would be.. fun :) (Of course, a 50" 8' tall sub might not be to practical.)
I mainly want really 'fast and tight' bass. I'm assuming with dual tempests, and a bit of room gain, any design will have decent enough low end, that I don't need to bother tuning super duper low (12 Hz style) These will be used mainly for music (rock, punk, and a bit of classical, and on odd days, techno) However, I want them to 'work' for HT as well. Suggestions on what I should do? Should I buy the QSC?
My room is about 12'x20'x8' Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I think the big pig is, well a little big. I'd go with Dan's recommended allignment for dual Tempests. 480L tuned to 16hz with dual 6" ports.
And 1400W is about twice as much power as you need. But that doesn't mean it will hurt :)
