    Hey Guys,

My friend is coming up to Canada and he asked if I wanted any DVD's. I said "hell yes", but I only have a Region 4 Player (non-modded). But - there are many R1 DVD's that are Dual coded for Region 1 and 4 (for South America), so my question is, does anyone know, or could find out if any of these DVD's are coded this way:

    The Court Jester (Paramount)

    Terminator 2: Ultimate Edition (Artisan)

    Pearl Harbor (Buena Vista)

Modding is out of the question as we have just upgraded!

    Thanks,

    Ben

Those titles probably aren't, several catalog titles from Columbia are Region 4 coded though but not mentioned on the package, and a few MGM titles are also now coded for both region 1 and 4 and indicated as such on the back.

I'd say T2 definately not since they only have the rights for North America

I'm doubting Pearl Harbor, but I don't have a copy to check with.

slightly off-topic, but if you only have an R4 player, why not buy Australian DVDs? ezydvd.com.au ships worldwide and Aussie discs are, I find, relatively cheap compared to US discs. you just have to check that the specs of the discs are comparable to R1 US discs (michaeldvd.com.au does good comparisons in their reviews)
