Madison's local NBC affiliate WMTV began test broadcast of their DTV signal on DT channel 19.
This news brings the big three networks to Madison area viewers able to receive DTV signals.
The word from Madison's local FOX affiliate WMSN, is that they will be installing their antenna in June, and plan to install their transmitter in first quarter of 2002.
The story is nearly the same with the local PBS station, planning to begin broadcasting a digital signal in late fall of 2001.
So far, the only local digital station broadcasting in Dolby Digital 5.1 is the network with the least amount of HD content, ABC. Lets hope that they will take CBS's lead and begin to provide a primetime lineup in high definition!
