I have this title and it is one of my favs to stick in and demo my system. I always select the dts audio and it sounds really good. It really has some good low end coming out of my SVS so I would think it is 5.1 dts but I'm not sure. Later today when the "bunch" awakens, I'll pop it in and compare the two.

The cover art states that there is DTS audio in the disc, but did not state whether the DTS audio is in 5.1 surround or DTS stereo only.
Anyway, the release shows that EMI had recognised the DTS potential to consumers.

DTS is always 5.1 or 6.1, there's no such thing as DTS stereo.

    CORRECTION.....
I just put this title in and checked the audio listings and readouts.....
On Dolby Digital.... it reads DD 5.1
    On DTS it reads...............dts 5ch
    On PCM........................PCM 2ch
Now this being said.... I find it unusual to be just 5 channel dts but that is clearly what it says. My RXV1 will allow me to turn on 6.1 and decodes it very well with fantastic imaging.
I also checked Santana Supernatural DVD and Roy Orbison Black and White Nights for their decoding and both were......... dts 6 ch.

"DTS is always 5.1 or 6.1, there's no such thing as DTS stereo."
The most recent theatrical presentation with DTS stereo is our local film,RETURN OF PONTIANAK.
DTS is about compression, not what it strictly represents. In most DVD releases,DTS were presented in either 5.1 or 6.1ES surround.DTS can be either 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 channel presentation or recording.DTS allows soundtracks to be less compressed compare to DOLBY DIGITAL,DTS allows wider range of audio frequencies to be recorded in a single channel track without heavy compression.
During the LASERDISC time, there were laserdiscs that were released with 2ch DTS stereo(matrix),BLOWN AWAY is one of them.
