Do all titles that are encoded in DTS have a dedicated

LFE channel ? Its seems that my receiver(Nakamichi AV-10) indicates the LFE channel for Dolby Digital 5.1 and

    not for DTS.

I have tried several disks both DTS CDs and DVDs and

seems that the sub is producing the effects. I have

compared the two formats and it seems very similiar

however the DTS does seem a few dB higher.

Any confirmed DTS tracks or titles (CD or DVD)with LFE

would be appreciated. If anyone with a Nak receiver

would confirm this would also be a great help.

    Try these discs on dts:

    Saving Private Ryan

    U571

    The Haunting

    Appolo 13

They they don't rock your world, something is wrong.

I find that the LFE in dts is usually stronger.

I can't explain why your receiver does not display the LFE, not being familiar with the unit.

More titles with great DTS tracks that should be tried:
    Gladiator
    Toy Story II
    Titan AE
    T2:Ultimate Edition
    Jurassic Park 3

I also find that LFE is more potent with DTS vs DD.

I believe that in order to receive dts you must connect either a digital optical or co-axial cable from back of the dvd player to the back of your receiver. Also you must go into the dvd player's menu and enable the bitstream. Hope this helps.

I have connected the digital inputs as per the manual

I was hoping for confirmation from any Nak AV -10 owners to verify the indication.

It seems that even though the indication does not show

a LFE channel with DTS, it seems to produce the effects.

I have had no response from the Nakamichi Service (emails)

I just wondering if it is worth a trip back to the dealer

    for service.

Make sure that your receiver is producing the DTS LFE (through direct comparrision of DD and DTS tracks). If it is producing the signal, then your display is just messed up. Not a big deal. Try Titan AE or U-571. The DTS LFE on these discs is extremely strong and will instantly show whether your getting it or not. P.S. Toy Story II is Dolby Digital only. If the signal isn't getting through, check your DTS LFE trim, if available. You may have it turned off.

Oops. Sorry on the TS-II being DD-EX, not DTS, but it sounds so good [IMG]
