Alias lost me somewhere in the fourth season and I doubt I will make the time for it this year. The first two years of this show were great, but they couldn't sustain it.

There's a long article in EW this week where they interview the creators about how they were leading people on last year and they say (ha haa haaaa) that we will get a whole lot of answers in the Season Premiere and more going forward. They are worried of a backlash since most people were starting to get really restless this past year. I was one of them.
About which shows I am going to drop, well, something has to go on Thursdays since all the networks scheduled against each other. There's The OC, Smallville and Alias and I can only tivo too (gym night.)

I've already dropped Stargate SG-1 -- what used to be an intelligent science fiction adventure has devolved into Irwin Allen cheese, only without the light-hearted campiness that made The Time Tunnel and Lost in Space watchable. I liked Ben Browder on Farscape, but he just doesn't work on SG-1.

Lost is on probation -- I'll be recording it and watching Veronica Mars; if it doesn't shape up by November, I'll drop it altogether.

I'm giving up on Fox's Sunday night lineup. I've only watched the Simpsons sporadically for the last couple years, and it just keeps getting worse. The resurrected Family Guy has taken on a desperate air as they try to be outrageous and surreal, and American Dad is just shuffling the same material around. I still like King of the Hill, but it gets pre-empted by sports so often that it's not worth the effort.

I'm on the edge with 24 -- last season got extremely silly, but it still managed to be fun so long as you kept your brain in neutral. The season finale was interesting enough that I'll probably tune in for the premiere.

That leaves me watching Veronica Mars, Battlestar Galactica, and Deadwood.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm dropping Smallville from recording. Looking back at my posts last year, it was really the only one that I bitched about being so damn stupid week after week.

My interest and enthusiasm for Prison Break was abruptly switched off like a light switch after the vile and sadistic events depicted in this weeks episode.

I'm finished with it, I also know of at least one other person who may be bailing as well because of this weeks ep.

FOX crossed the line IMO, and they lost a viewer, maybe two. This weeks ep wasn't entertainment, it was cold blooded sadism.

I finally pulled the trigger on Lost when I realized I had the two most recents eps saved on my DVR and I had zero desire to watch them. I watched the first 20 minutes of the Hurley ep and then erased it... the leisurely pace just killed the show for me.:frowning:

I'm really close to cancelling my season pass on Footballers Wives as well, but since they just had their season finale, hopefully some time away will bring me back as a fresh viewer. The really bad thing about the show is that no one has a moral backbone, almost everyone does self-destructive things for selfish reasons. It would be like if everyone on Desperate Housewives had the moral constitution of Gabrielle Solis.

After 16 long and ultimately fun years, after tonight's episode of WWE Raw I have no desire to watch any wrestling that the WWE presents.

Thank goodness I got to Add TNA Impact as of October 1.

I also dropped Fox's sunday night lineup.

A very long and painful to watch skit involving Vince McMahon trying to remove objects from a plastic Ass that was supposed to be that of Jim Ross was so long, unfunny and just awful that for the first time in my life I was embarrassed to be a wrestling fan. I'm still embarrassed for having to type the phrase Vince McMahon pulling things out of a fake Jim Ross ass.

The biggest disappointment for the fall season is Rome on HBO. I quickly lost interest after DVR'ing the first 4 shows.

I know many people are into the show, but it wasn't fast enough for me.

Shows I've dropped:

Will & Grace - two seasons ago, should have given up earlier.

24 - I didn't watch last year but will be watching the DVD's in December. After that, I'm done.

Desperate Housewives - gave up after season 1.

The Apprentice - gave up after season 2.

The Bachelor - no explanation needed.

I'll probably finish this season of Alias but won't watch next year if they continue it. After recently watching the season DVD's of the great show Le Femme Nikita I realized how much of the plots for Alias have been "borrowed".

I've pretty much given up on ER - watch only if I'm bored. While I still like some of the characters, I don't like them as much as others that have left.

Battlestar Galactica will be recorded, to watch when I'm not bored, in favor of Numb3rs. BSG is a good show, but it moves very slowly and is more soap opera than sci-fi.

American Chopper and American Hotrod because AC has run its course and AH moves around and they've gotten rid of all of the interesting characters.

I just realized I gave up on "Will & Grace" this season. :)

I have 4 episodes recorded, but zero interest in seeing them. Maybe I will, I still record them... The writing got really dumb, and the show was incredibly stale and repetitive last season. I doubt it'll be better this year.

Oh, and I haven't watched the last 3 episodes of
"survivor" either... but that's how I've done it for the last few seasons too, save a bunch and catch up, so I think I'll try and do that this year too. I still like the show. :)

I still like ER and AH. As for AC, I never really gotten into bikes. If it's in HD, I will watch it, but then again I would watch grass grow if it was in HD.

You're right, AH has become bland. A lot of the interesting characters (ie. workers), left the shop.

Since American Casino moved to TLC, I haven't watched any new shows.

That Boston Fire Fighter is pretty good. Sometime, it gets dull.

Turn Around on CNN is great, but they always have that breaking news instead, so I don't bother anymore.

Attack of the Show is the worse show that is still on my DVR. I fast forward about 90% of it everyday. G4 is a worthless channel now. Call For Help is awesome. I'm glad that they still have some tech on, even through it's in Canada.

After the Screen Savers, Attack of the Show is just useless bandwidth that is sorry. Plus, all of their host ever talks about is drinking, getting drunk.

They are worse than B Actors!!!

Smallville has been good so far so I dropped the OC which is just dumb now a days.
I gave up on the new shows, Surface and all those other Lost clones.

OC is another show that I have recorded the last two but not watched yet. The first 2 episodes of the season were beyond dumb.
