MGM owns this film. It was produced by PolyGram Filmed Entertainment.

I'd buy this but I'd rather have a boxed set of "The Young Ones".

I'd buy both this AND a box set of The Young Ones. How many episodes did that series run, anyway? MTV showed about ten that I know of.

Should be only twelve if I remember correctly. A standard British series used to only run for 6 episodes.
Given the critical mauling it received I was surprised by how funny I found Drop Dead Fred. Oddly it arrived here the same year as Freddie's Dead (Nightmare 6 or 7?) which was also the year Freddie Mercury popped his clogs. How bizarre... [IMG]

Count me in for Drop Dead Fred and especially The Young Ones. I have all 12 episodes on the dreaded VHS which I break out so often. But being able to watch any episode without rewinding or fast forwarding would just be BLOODY AWESOME!!!!
    Dear Fascist Bullyboy,

Personally I don't think The Young Ones is really funny anymore - certainly not the first series. I'm really shocked that it could be popular over there as it's so provincially English. Maybe that's why I don't find it so funny.
I think Bottom's way more consistently brilliant. If you like Drop Dead Fred you've got to love Bottom. [IMG]

I used to love The Young Ones in high school. I've had the opportunity to go back and watch a few episodes lately. I cannot for the life of me figure out what I thought was funny about that show! Maybe my expectations were too high since I remember it being one of my favorite shows. I can't stand it now.
