While this didn't perform very well at the box office back in 1999, the popularity of stars Melissa Joan Hart, Adrian Grenier, and screenwriter Rob Thomas should help this underrated romantic teen comedy get a high-def release. I especially would love an audio commentary and some more extras added.

The DVD release includes only the following:

- Original theatrical trailer
- TV spots
- 2 music videos: Britney Spears "Drive Me Crazy" (featuring Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier) and Jars of Clay "Unforgetful You" (intercut with footage from the film).

Hopefully these would get ported over.

Perhaps as a tie-in with the rumored "Veronica Mars" movie?

Seriously, though, if Sony hadn't put Can't Hardly Wait on Blu-ray already, I'd be laughing, but I'd say there's at least an even chance this could happen.

Good point. I haven't seen her in anything in a long time. But "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch" is still popular in syndication to this day.

Maybe I should've written it this way: While this didn't perform very well at the box office back in 1999, the popularity of co-star Adrian Grenier, screenwriter Rob Thomas, and then-popular star Melissa Joan Hart should help this underrated romantic teen comedy get a high-def release.

I always felt "Drive Me Crazy" was underrated, but that could be just me.

I know you're giving me a hard time, Jason, but isn't HBO's "Entourage" still popular? I'm not subscribed to the premium channel and only watched the first few episodes during a "free preview weekend". That's what I was referring to, although Jeremy Piven's role seems to be the most popular.

Never seen it, never actually met a person who has seen it, though I have read rumors of its popularity online. It's not as though Grenier has any current visibility otherwise, though.

Still, I love this post as satire - whether of Sony's occasionally random-seeming choices of what to release on Blu-ray or certain HTFers' sense of entitlement. Although for the latter, it should probably be "Where, oh where, is Drive Me Crazy on BD?"

Since Fox put out "The X-Files: Fight the Future" on BD and for me it was especially a highly-anticipated upgrade from the non-anamorphic DVD release (I never got around to getting the DTS reissue), not to mention its 10th anniversary was this year (though it was largely a tie-in for the BD and DVD releases of "I Want to Believe"), I figured I would bring this film some attention for a possible (anniversary/tie-in) release in 2009.

That's the reason I started this thread.

Is anyone else interested in upgrading this to Blu-ray or is the thought of seeing that Britney Spears music video again scare you? (Don't worry - I'm not fan of hers.)

"Drive Me Crazy" a "guilty pleasure" for some of you, perhaps?
