    Hi,

I would like some info on hooking up a Dreamcast to a Sony VPL-W400Q projector. What would be the best method of doing this for the best picture quality?

I have read mention of a VGA box for the Dreamcast, can you me what this does and what it costs? Plus the best places to getone if it would help?

    Thanks,

    Glenn

I used to have my DC hooked up to my projector. Your best bet is via S-Video.

A VGA box won't do you any good without a scaler ($$$), since the 400Q won't do 480p.

Okay, thanks. I will give the old S-Video a shot. Thanks for the info.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have never heard of a Super Video adapter for the Dreamcast. I have been using composites since I bought this console two years ago as I have not had any use for the VGA adapter. I would appreciate if someone could tell me what brand and model number I should be looking for so I can telephone the various video game stores around my house.

    Thank you for your help.

Well the VGA boxes have S-Video outs (at least the two I've used do), but you can also get the S-Video cable/adapter dealy. I'm pretty sure that Sega makes one of these.

I was able to purchase a Dreamcast S-Video adapter made by Sega back in '99 when I got the Dreamcast. I would think they're still around somewhere...
    In fact, check this out:

It's not Sega, but it looks like it should work...

Thank you for the replies. I will go look for a VGA adapter that has Super Video outs tomorrow.
