Can sombody reccomend a few dreamtheater songs?I have never heard them as far as I know and would like to download a few of their tunes from audiogalaxy. thanks ------------------
Dream theater, alright! They're my favorite hard rock/metal band. There albums Images & Words, Awake, Falling Into Infinity, and Scenes From A Memory are all perfect; not a bad moment on them. I'm a pretty harsh critic on music, so that's a big endorsement. Here's some songs off the top of my head: Pull Me Under Metropolis part I Home Lie 6:00 Lifting Shadows Off A Dream Change of Seasons (20 minutes) Fatal Tragedy Take the Time Line in the Sand Scarred This should get you started. Their albums work better when listened to as a whole, especially their last one, Scenes From a Memory, which is a concept album.
Pull Me Under got some radio play around here, and it really got me started on DT. ------------------ Visit The Mooseplex | Band site | Solo artist mp3.com site

You need to get Scenes from a Memory and listen to it from start to finish. It's WELL worth the cost of a CD. A Change of Seasons from the Change of Seasons EP. It's 23 minutes long. I think that it's quite possibly the best song they've done. Somehow DT made 23 minutes seem to short. It's incredible. ------------------ You want to upgrade again?!!

Jim_C, The funny thing about Change of Seasons is that it's really just "filler." It was written in the early days of the band and was scrapped. After Awake, the keyboard player left and they realised it would be a long time before the next album was gonna be released. To placate fans, they dug up Change of Seasons and recorded it. Then they tacked on material from a concert they did where they played cover songs. It's funny how their "throw-away" material is heads above most other bands' output. I like Seasons, too, but I think they went on to make better stuff.
No dreamtheater cd's at walmart.I was hoping to go to best buy but we ran out of time. I did get willy wonka and forrest gump though ------------------ My dvd collection http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollect...?alias=cisaacs
That's pretty interesting about it being filler. While I agree that DT has gone on to make amazing music I still hold Change of Seasons as my personal favorite. I've listened to many, many 10+ minute compositions and COS IMO flows so much better than any of the rest. It really impresses me. Having said that Home, Silent Man, Scarred, and The Spirit Carries on are probably my favorite tracks in the -10 minute catagory. Okay, so Scarred is 11 minutes You just can't go wrong with DT. I can't wait for the new album next spring. ------------------ You want to upgrade again?!!
