    Where on earth is DragonSlayer?

I would have thought that LOTR would prompt studios to cash in on some catalog titles.

Is there any word on this puppy? Please don't tell me to do a search, I'm not getting any hits.

I don't really know what the story is with this film. I have the rare 1st version on VHS, but it definately deserves to be on DVD.

Ocasionally they play it on the Disney Channel, otherwise I haven't seen much of it. I think it's a film Disney is trying to divorce itself from, although I'm not sure why.

    Dragonslayer is
in the hands of Paramount in the US.
    (I believe it was a co-producrtion with
    Beuna Vista and Paramount.)
    Paramount released it domestically
on LD in both pan-and-scan, and a
remastered widescreen version at a later date.
It is also the first film Lucas's ILM
worked on outside of a Star Wars film.
When Paramount asked this forum for a list
of titles they wanted to see on DVD, Dragonslayer
was one of the most oft mentioned titles.
Martin Blythe, the gentleman who is in a position
of authority at Pararmout who frequents this forum,
said it "made the cut," and that he
would look into it. Then later, he said something
along the lines of it not being released this year, but
    maybe next.
The film is very dark, with lots of scenes set in
caves and at night. Without proper authoring, this
could be a really awful looking DVD.
Blythe did say that he would need to look
into the film elements, before he could say
    much more about it.

I want this movie on DVD. Mr Blythe, please encourage "the powers that be" to get on it. What a great movie!

    Peace,
