I have a Hughes E45 receiver that's going to be hooked up to a Denon 2802 receiver and I was wondering if Dolby Pro Logic II will work using the Optical connection on the Hughes receiver or do I have to use the regular analog audio jacks?

I think it would as long as the satellite receiver offers PCM. I know my Dish receiver offers DD and PCM which switches according to the source. Your PCM track will process and send through your DPL or stereo signal that's needed for DPLII.
