Do High Definition images exist on the net that can be downloaded and viewed on my laptop's display? I'm seeking images that appear as if I'm looking out a window! Thanks!

I'm not certain if the Matrix trailer (available at www.thematrix.com) in which you choose Ultra selection (94 MB, Quicktime req.) is HD, but it is crystal clear and very lifelike.

I don't want to download video. I just want a couple of High Definition images for my laptop. I don't care what they are. I want them to rival the "best" HDTV image available on an HDTV displaying HD images. Sort of like those images you seem on the HD "loops" in the video stores. "DVD quality" isn't good enough for what I want. Thansk :)

I got sick of looking for free good quality wallpaper on the net so I use Kazaa for most of the stuff. You can set what size images to search for too.

There was this Longhorn pack that had these beautiful images in it, but I can't seem to find it anymore. If you're interested lmk and I'll post it on my FTP.

edit- forgot to mention these beautiful picture perfect Shrek wallpapers that someone posted here on HTF some time ago. I don't remember the address but I can host them too if you want. btw, what res is your laptop?

My mistake Jim. If pictures are what you're after, do you know anyone with a 3 or higher Megapixel Digital camera? These are capable of capturing high resolution images and I can tell you, it is stunning on a monitor.

The links that Scott provided have some spectacular images as well...I'm d/l some myself.

deviantArt is awesome. Their slow server sucks but the content is often amazing.

I second the digital camera idea. doesn't get much more real than real-life. also make sure you crank the resolution of your laptop up, your image is only as sharp as the resolution you pick. something in the 1600x1200 range would work great, though with it being a laptop you might be stuck with a lower resolution.
