How many VHS titles are still in your library?

I've been selling/dumping my VHS colection since 1999 through resellers, online auctions, Goodwill, etc. I recently took a box of movies to Half-Price Books, including Lion King. Wanted to get a few bucks for it while I still could.

I did an inventory last night, and I only have the following movies left:
1. Star Wars Trilogy WS
2. Indiana Jones Trilogy WS
3. Casino Royale (1954 TV version; contains "lost footage"
not on DVD)
4. A Christmas Story (Refuse to buy P&S DVD)
5. Hardware Wars SE (Probably never make it to DVD)

I do still have a packing-box-o-crap in the attic with things I've taped off of TV, a video on how to stop your baby from crying, the instructional video to the washer/dryer, The Star Wars Holiday Special, etc.

I no longer own a cassette deck (except in my car); I wonder if there will come a day when I have no VCR.

Brad

P.S. I think I have a copy of Howard the Duck in that box in the attic, but I refuse to admit it's part of my collection.

Need a little help, do ya? :p) I only have the SW trilogy, but my parents have around 40-50 that I borrow from every now and then. My roommate probably has 30 or so, but nothing too interesting for me. I also have around 10 movies I've taped off TV, though I doubt I could even say what they were without looking.

I haven't had or used a cassette tape or player in many years.

Chris

Whoa, hey Brad, just saw you were from T-Town...I grew up down there. I'm in Renton now, so if you need assistance washing your clothes, let me know ;)

Hardware Wars IS on DVD! The Digital Bits did a review of it about a year ago.

(and I only have a handful of VHS-only titles, almost all silents. I also have some tapes that have been replaced by DVD or have DVDs out (haven't purchased yet).)

Chris, as much as I appreciate the offer, I have no problems operating the washer/dryer. The video came with the machine, but is still in shrink-wrap. Not much of a secondary market for it.

Patrick, I do have Hardware Wars on DVD, but it's the original version, not the Special Edition with the badly spliced in cheesy CGI. That's only on video. Who knows, I see that they're offering Hardware Wars T-shirts now, so maybe a SE DVD is in the works.

I've still got a few...a Pogues concert, a Utopia concert...some foreign stuff (Remote Control [Icelandic], Twin Town [Welsh], City Unplugged [Estonian], a couple of Emir Kusturica titles, a couple of Kaurusmaki titles). The Chocolate War, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead. I think that's about it.

I have Star Wars, The Little Shop of Horrors, The Evil Dead, The "Weird Al" Yankovic Video Library and "Weird Al" Yankovic, Bad Hair Day: The Videos. I already have The Evil Dead on DVD and plan on replacing Weird Al and Little shop with current releases. Star Wars I gotta wait for.

Hardware Wars, there is an official website, and for those that are interested, do a Google search, it's worth the while. There's an interview with the creator and it's a LOL thing.

Quite a few VHS, All that Jazz, Ken Russel's Boyfriend, Sensation... Will probably get Dreamchild and Out of the Past. None are on DVD, some, All that Jazz, Out of the Past were on LD. All that Jazz on non R1 DVD, rumor to be finally on R1 soon. The rest may never seen a DVD version.

I got rid of my SW trilogy when I was able to pick up some boots in WS... since it's impossible to get that trilogy in WS on VHS, without giving up an arm. I just gave the VHS to my father, since he'd appreciate it.

Most of the VHS titles I have around are music video collections - especially from some bands I still enjoy, but don't ever expect to see on DVD.

Plus the standar issue Star Wars WS. Actually, it's on the Special Edition versions - all my other Star Wars and Indiana Jones WS are on LaserDiscs.

(Anyone else's LD collection grow in leaps in bounds AFTER DVD?)

The DVD of it that I have has the original version of it. It has a few versions of it.

And about A CHRISTMAS STORY. Isn't a fullscreen DVD better than the VHS?

I am also down to one VHS title - "Stormy Weather," starry the lovely Lena Horne and I will most likely transfer it to a DVD-R just in case it does not make it to DVD.

I recently discarded Sleeping Beauty (Widescreen) and my Extended Cut of Dances with Wolves (Widescreen) because of the upcoming releases.

Now, all I have remaining are:

The Last of the Mohicans (1992 / Widescreen) (Will keep it because it contains the theatrical cut).
Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen THX remastered)
Star Wars Trilogy: SE (Widescreen)
Police Squad (2 tapes)
and a few 49er SI videos

...just had to make sure you guys didn't think I was over here watching VHS tapes. :D
