I have narrowed my choices of recievers down to these 2. It's the Onkyo 898 or the Denon 3802.
I have been reading the threads here and I know what my needs are.
I need at least 3 digital audio inputs (both fit this).
I want a 7 channel amp (both do this)
I want DD EX or equal (according to people here matrix and EX about the same)
Don't care about front AV inputs.
Purely using this for Home Theater / No Music
Would like the multiple source single output (Onkyo), but not critical.
Like the idea that the Denon is at least $200 less.
I have heard the Denon and it sounds nice. Can't find anyone local with the Onkyo.
The people here that have the Onkyo seem to love it.
I was all set to buy the Onkyo today when I went out to Tweeter and the salesman there, who also does custom installs, tried to convince me that the Denon was a better product than the Onkyo. He said that he has worked with both. I think he just was trying to sell me the Denon, but he was convincing.
Does anyone know of a place that I can hear the Onkyo and Denon side by side in central MA?
    Thanks,
    Mark
