Between the two DVDs? What is the difference? I could care less about the extras I'm more concerned with the sound and video. Does anyone know if the SE version (white case cover) offers and improved picture and sound?

The video transfer is the same but this time, the film is compressed on a DVD-9. Less compression on the special edition release.

The sound is pretty much the same except that the SE has a 5.0 soundtrack, you still get the LFE but your equipment has to be set=up properly.

The only reason to buy the special edition is for the extras. Since it doesn't matter if the version you get has extras, I would say go with the original release simply because you should be able to find it a lower price.

I didn't see much of a difference in the transfers or even the sound.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the special ed is cheaper bc the old one is oop. I picked it up for 15 bux at best buy.
