To make a long story short (this is my third draft
), I usually send my TV audio through my receiver in Circle Surround mode (Kenwood VR-507). However, on occasion when I can't control myself, I dig out a VHS tape and watch it.
Most of my VHS tapes are in Dolby Surround, which as I understand it, wants to be processed by Pro-Logic (or is it Pro-Logic II?)
Anyway, am I missing anything by watching these in Circle Surround? My ears aren't golden (maybe bronze on a good day), and I can't immediately spot any differences, but I thought I'd ask if maybe there's something I ought to be listening for.
[Edit: changed a "can" to a "can't" and trimmed down some verbiage]
