Dolby Atmos upgrading? From older Denon

    As large as Dave's front speakers are, Klipschorns are about 4x as big. Those are Altec Voice of the Theater.

    As far as height of surrounds, In a non-Atmos system they should be a foot or two above seated ear level. In an Atmos system, they should be more at ear level.

    So a update went with the denon avr 3500x(2018) saved a bunch on older model. And lowered the surrounds(although i couldn't do much about how close they are to seating area). And got klipsch ceiling speakers.
    still working out the bugs

    I would mount the surrounds to the side wall, instead of the rear wall. That will get them a bit further away from the viewing area. A couple feet is better than nothing.

    There is a lally column support post right there to the left of the couch. So the right surround is as far as it could go. So the left one to me just kinda had to be where I put it for my OCD .lol.. but yes I know what you are saying.. it's a basement hard to work with..
