    Hi all,

I have just started receiving our local ABC station (WJLA in Washington DC), however the picture sucks bigtime, halos around everything.

I was previously under the impression that Toshiba sets would upconvert a 720p signal to 1080i for proper display, but now I am beginning to wonder.

I use Echostar's HD6000 as both DSS and OTA receiver. Will I need a separate receiver to do upconversion prior to reaching the TV? I'm thinking its about time I looked into a home theater PC.

Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts.

The 50HX81 won't accept a native 720p signal. Set your Dish 6000 to output 1080i & it will convert your ABC-HD signal to 1080i before sending it to your TV.
