The reason I ask is that I recently bought the region 2 edition which has the same new anamorphic transfer and extras, but has the awful 80s Rock music in it.

The cafeteria scene is ruined by that dreck.

Does the region 1 edition have the Sam Cooke, et al music in it?

    Cheers.

Yes, I am pretty sure that it has the original music.

On the other hand, it sports an awful cover and forced trailers.

80s rock music? Wow, that's bad. The Region 1 does have the original music (just checked it).

Jim, the alternate songs are so bad, it is not even funny. I was pretty pissed off to find that Universal were pulling this shit in this day and age of home video marketing.

I can only imagine. "I'm a zit!" backed by Survivor... the mind boggles. I'm surprised I haven't heard about this before, truthfully. Is it the whole film or just the cafeteria scene?

I am not sure who the songs are by - they credits do not list them, and I can't seem to find information on them through Google. When Flounder and his steady girl Sissy enter the Toga Party, the song playing is called "You'd Better Learn How To Fight" - what originally played over this scene?

Seriously, the cafeteria scene is RUINED in the British DVD edition. I cannot believe Universal went to the trouble of being so cheap and lazy.
