Does the American Sony DVP-NS999ES support universal voltage (i.e. 110V-220V)? Or is it just 110V?
Haris, the US version of the 'NS999ES is fixed at 110V. It is rare for US components to offer adjustable voltage.
Thanks for the reply.
Since I live in Dubai and the voltage here is 220V, would I lose any picture/sound quality if I got a 220V to 110V converter for the Sony DVP-NS999ES and used it here?
Haris, no problem. Isn't the 'NS999ES available overseas? If nothing else, couldn't you have it shipped from Europe? In any event, with a quality converter, I don't believe you would suffer degradation of audio or video.
That's the problem. The European Sony DVP-NS999ES isn't available yet. They are trying to get PAL progressive scan and that might take a VERY long time.
Anyway, thanks for your help.
Haris, I understand. It is true that many DVD players overseas are not progressive-scan-capable.
I was glad to help. Best of luck in your search.
