Pls pardon me if this has come before you all in past posts, but I am interested in knowing if my PT-53WX42 allows for "native 480p". I have gone through the manual and I cannot find where this is pointed out to me.

For that matter, will most manufactures speak to this interest in their manuals? If not, how can one determine on their own, as to any HDTV having an ability to allow for native 480p?

    Thank you in advance.

Thank you, Michael. So I should feel confident that the set will allow for optimum performance from a DVD player which uses the Faroudja chip.

How might a novice like myself determine this on his own?
