does it make sense to pair an svs ultra with bookshelves speaker? (1 Viewer)

i am not going to buy any svs in the near future, i am just wondering about using smaller speaker, 5 1/2 inch woofer with a subwoofer like the ultra.

would the ultra overpower the speakers?

Originally, my SVS 16-46PC was paired with a set of bookshelf speakers from Home Theater Direct and it sounded perfectly fine. If you properly calibrate the system, then there is no reason the SVS would overwhelm your speakers, no matter how big or small they are.

i think it would only make more sense! the bookshelves will lack pretty badly under ~100Hz or so, and a big woofer would really help compensate and balance the setup overall.
