why Disney's "The Fox and the Hound" is not available in widescreen. I purchased this for a Christmas gift for my sister-in-law. Last night when I was wrapping it I noticed it said modified to fit your screen. Most Disney films have been OAR, why not this one???

I think the DVD is 100% open-matte. The film was framed so it would work in both ratios, I believe. (As were most of the other Disney animated films made during the post-Walt/pre-Eisner period, IIRC; the DVD of The Aristocats is also open-matte)
